Rich has over 40 years of experience in civil engineering and land development. He has been responsible for civil engineering design for private sector clients on a multitude of projects ranging in scope from 10,000 square feet to over 2 million square feet. In addition to his private sector experience, Rich is also familiar with the public sector of the engineering profession as having worked for Massachusetts Highway Department. His work experience culminates in a thorough knowledge of the local, state, and federal regulatory process for land development projects located throughout the northeast. Prior to starting RJO’Connell & Associates in 2004, Rich spent the previous five years managing the Boston office of a national engineering and architectural consulting firm. He is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and New Jersey. Brian Dundon is one of the founding principals of RJO’Connell & Associates. He has over 30 years of land development/civil engineering experience on a variety of commercial and residential development type projects located within the New England region. Brian has also managed projects outside the New England region most notably in Birmingham, AL and Houston, TX. He manages a multitude of projects, which range in size from 10,000 sf to upwards of 500,000 sf and is responsible for all site/civil engineering services associated with those projects from project planning and permitting through engineering design and construction.  Brian’s extensive experience culminates in a thorough knowledge of the local, state and federal permits and approval process for projects located within the New England region. Prior to establishing RJO’Connell & Associates, Brian was the head of the Land Development Division of a national engineering and architectural consulting firm. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey, Vermont, New York, and Pennsylvania. Brian McCarthy has 30 years of experience in civil engineering and land development. He has managed numerous projects ranging in size from 30,000 square feet to upwards of three quarters of a million square feet. He is responsible for all site/civil engineering services associated with these projects from project planning through engineering design, permitting and construction. Brian has the ability to create and maintain strong professional relationships with his clients and prides himself on maintaining client satisfaction with his proven track record of repeat work from some of the most prominent developers in the New England region. As Principal/project manager and prime consultant, he has led and managed consultant teams through the design and permitting process on several major projects in both urban and rural environments. Roy Smith has over 30 years of Civil Design, Project Management and Department Management in a varied project mix. He has masterplanned, designed, permitted and overseen the construction of commercial, retail and telecommunications projects throughout New England. In addition to Roy’s project management responsibilities, he has gained valuable knowledge in the areas of stormwater management facilities, septic systems, water quality systems, water supply systems, and utility design. Prior to joining RJO’Connell & Associates, he was the director of Engineering for the Worcester office of a prominent regional consulting engineering and survey firm and prior to that a Senior Project Manager with the Boston Land Development Unit of a national engineering/architectural firm.
Roy has been involved with a number of commercial projects throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island ranging in size from a few thousand square feet to over a million square feet.
Notable clients include Costco, Target, Kohl’s, Jordan’s Furniture, Price Chopper, Stop & Shop, Walgreens and many others.
