RJ O’Connell is helping transform a portion of the South Shore Plaza property into a 325-unit residential community called The Residences at South Shore, providing the civil engineering, permitting, and infrastructure solutions needed to bring new housing to one of the region’s premier mixed-use destinations. A thriving regional shopping destination. An underutilized parking field. An opportunity to create a more connected community.

At South Shore Plaza, RJOC is helping reposition underutilized parking areas into a vibrant residential community that complements the surrounding retail environment while making more efficient use of the site.

Located adjacent to the Old Quincy Reservoir, the project demanded careful environmental planning from the outset. RJOC designed an upgraded stormwater management system focused on improving water quality, promoting groundwater recharge, and reducing phosphorus and nitrogen loading before runoff reaches sensitive natural resources.

Transforming an active commercial property requires careful coordination below the surface. RJOC is leading the relocation of an existing sewer main while designing the civil infrastructure needed to support future residential development with minimal disruption to the surrounding site.

From early feasibility through land use permitting and construction documentation, RJOC has partnered closely with the development team to move the project forward. The result is a strong engineering foundation for a community designed to serve both today’s residents and the future of South Shore Plaza.
