Replacing an active hospital requires thoughtful planning long before construction begins. RJOC led the project’s master planning and feasibility efforts, helping establish a clear path from vision to reality while keeping the long-term needs of the island community at the forefront.
From land surveying and permitting to stormwater management and site design, RJOC coordinated the engineering solutions that brought the new hospital campus together. Every element was designed to support a facility that operates efficiently today while remaining adaptable for the future.
Island construction presents unique environmental and logistical challenges. RJOC designed critical site infrastructure and stormwater systems while navigating complex permitting requirements, helping create a campus engineered to perform in one of New England’s most demanding coastal environments.
The project extended beyond the hospital itself. RJOC supported the expansion of staff housing, helping strengthen the hospital’s ability to attract and retain healthcare professionals while reinforcing the long-term sustainability of healthcare services on Nantucket.
