The Nantucket Cottage Hospital (NCH) renovation project was a multi-year effort to replace its aging facility with a new, state-of-the-art hospital, including a 106,000-square-foot building with 242 parking spaces and the acquisition of staff housing. The new hospital includes 14 inpatient beds, a new emergency department, a radiology department, an infusion center, laboratory services, and rehabilitation facilities. The renovation was funded entirely through private donations.

The new building is designed to be hurricane-proof, able to withstand winds over 150 miles per hour. The hospital has expanded its staff housing to address the challenges of the local housing market. This included the acquisition of two new duplexes, which provided an additional 12 bedrooms for seasonal employees and new hires.
